Background

The widespread use of the internet and other technological advances have changed internet users from digital literates to digital natives, as they now rely on the internet to meet their everyday demands and obligations. The Internet has infiltrated education, where it has become a necessary tool for effective teaching and learning. It has huge potential to improve educational quality, which is one of the cornerstones of the SDG 2030 Agenda. As a result, there is a fresh need to investigate creative methods of enhancing interactive education and engaging students in deep and diverse learning or thinking.

Objectives

EDU+ aims to provide professional and personal development to the participating teachers and educators; they will exchange good practices and valuable knowledge regarding the use of digital tools and innovative educational methodology in the classroom, in the scope of improving their digital literacy and readiness. The objectives are the following ones:

  1. foster Gamification and Game-Based Learning
  2. introduce Design Thinking
  3. promote Digital Storytelling
  4. encourage lifelong learning for teaching professions

Project Results

The following results are expected after the completion of the project:

  • Increase participants’ Digital Literacy & skillset
  • Address new and innovative ways to engage students into deep and divergent learning
  • Promote Game Based Learning and Gamification Methodology
  • Underline the positive results of Design Thinking & Digital Storytelling Methodology in Digital Education
  • Provide Lifelong learning opportunities for teaching professions in order to enhance their initial education
